Gavin Wood, Calum Crookshanks, Mak Wilson and Harri Morris have made the move up from Melrose 1XV to play in the Fosroc Super 6 competition with the Southern Knights.

Gavin Wood has played for Melrose since he was five years old. The dynamic centre worked his way up through Melrose Minis, Earlston High School teams and through the Melrose youth system before making his Melrose 1XV debut in 2015

Front row Calum Crookshanks is another player who has come through the Melrose youth system. Calum started playing rugby in the first year of high school at Earlston before making his Melrose 1XV debut in 2016. He used his talent and experience to good effect during a stay in New Zealand where he played for Southbridge RFC.

Mak Wilson, another Borderer and Scotland U20 cap, started playing rugby at Duns RFC. The front row has also played for Berwick as well as representing Scotland in every national age-grade side. Mak made the move to Melrose in 2017 and was part of the Scotland squad in the 2019 World Rugby Under-20 Championship.

Back row Harri Morris started rugby at Southport RFC. Upon his family’s move north of the border, the Scotland U18 cap played for George Watson’s School and Melrose U18 WASPS before making his senior rugby debut for Melrose 1XV in 2018.
