Melrose Storm v Earlston - 21/3/26

Spring finally found its way to the Scottish Borders and the lovely setting of Earlston RFC at The Haugh rugby ground. The Storm had the early initiative and went 14 points clear before Earlston found a foothold into the game and scored their first tries. At half time Melrose were clear by a score and added two more tries in the second half to look like likely winners at 33-14. But Earlston used the power of their pack to come storming back into contention and level the contest at 33-33 in the final minute of the game (with the final missed conversion going over the top of the post, so a close call!). Pulsating throughout and a very good advert for rugby when the teams are committed and evenly matched.

Well done to both teams for playing the game in fantastic spirit throughout.

Final Score: 33-33
