Weekly Bulletin 27/3/21

Hope everyone is doing well this week. It’s beginning to get busy at the club with preparations for the 7s starting. We had our final full group meeting last night & it really is incredible to see how much time and effort our fabulous volunteers put in to putting on the 7s! I hope everyone is praying to the weather Gods for a warm & dry weekend!

Rugby…

There’s been a fair amount of Rugby this last week! The 1XV took on Kelso on a cold and blustery Friday night under The Greenyards lights – we came away victorious with Bruce Colvine being named ‘Man of the Match’. There was a great atmosphere in the bar after the game with both teams enjoying Ally’s latest menu offering of Chicken & Haggas lasagne – it’s a new favourite! As you might remember from last week, the Under 16’s were heading up to Edinburgh to take on Currie Chieftans in the U16 East Cup Final. It was a great day and a very close match, but it wasn’t to be. The final score was 37-33 to Currie. Well done to all involved and a big thank you to the coaches who give so much of their time. U16 Wasps who were runners up in the East Youth U16’s Cup

The Under 18’s took on North Berwick here at the Greenyards on Saturday, not a great day for them unfortunately – they are a positive bunch & have worked hard this season with Nick Alston & Brendan Molloy with them every step of the way.

The Strom were in action last night against Peebles Reds, their fist game in almost a month. Good to get a run out but not the best night for them with a hard loss.

This Friday night the action heads to Mansfield Park, Hawick as the 1XV look to beat the Greens at home in the Border League. No one has beat Hawick at home in a competitive match since October 2019 – it won’t be an easy task but I’m sure the boys will give it all they have! Good luck to you all.

Club Carpark

Some areas of the club carpark will be out of use on Friday – St Mary’s are taking down a tree on their driveway, so if you’re parking at the club, please avoid the St Mary’s side of the carpark!
