Afternoon Folks,

Hope your week is going well – there has been a fair bit going on at the Greenyards this week – Friday night saw 130 ‘farmers’ descend on the club for the annual ‘Farmers Lunch’. There was a very successful auction in aid of Myname’5 Doddie Foundation which raised £6400 for the cause. Thank you to everyone who helped raise that incredible sum!

While the Farmers enjoyed their late lunch, The Storm headed down to Poynder Park at Kelso to take on the Sharks – they came away with a 17- 19 win – Big Congratulations to them!

This Friday night sees the 1XV take on Peebles at the Gytes under the lights – it’s a 7:30pm kick off – weather forecast is dry with 7oC.  I’m sure the boys will appreciate you wrapping up worm and heading over to support them!

The 1XV are in action a lot in March – here’s the updated schedule:

16/3/24

Glasgow Accies v Melrose – KO: 3pm (A)

22/3/24

Melrose Rugby v Kelso – KO 7:30pm (H)

29/3/24

All Roads Lead to Rome…

Ben Weir & his team of intrepid cyclists (The International Roaming Bundle) are nearing the finish line with Rome firmly in their sights. The fundraising is going well, but if you’d like to boost their coffers you can follow the link to their JUST GIVING PAGE.

Dementia Memory Boxes

Betty Doyle answered our call to arms a couple of weeks ago and came down to the club to sort through programmes, photos and other items that might interest local dementia patients. Nurse Emma Mclaren came over and joined Betty and has gone away with lots of copies of photos, extra programmes and the like, she uses all these to make up into boxes that might jog memories for some of her patients & create talking points. It’s a fabulous effort on Emma & Betty’s part and good to know that lots of our duplicate items are helping to improve the lives of local people.

P4 Quiz Night
