Go Fibre Melrose Hornets Festival 2026
Melrose Greenyards, Triangle & Gibson Park
Sunday 13th of September
First Kick Off: 10am
Celebrating 150 Years of Melrose Rugby
We’re delighted to welcome players, coaches, families and supporters to the Go Fibre Melrose Hornets Festival 2026, a special celebration of mini rugby during Melrose Rugby’s 150th anniversary year.
This year’s festival will be our biggest yet, bringing together around 70 teams and more than 1,000 young players from clubs across the Borders, Edinburgh, central Scotland and further afield.
Across the day, teams from P3 to P7 will take part in a packed programme of rugby, with each team’s fixtures carefully scheduled to keep their visit to around three hours from first kick-off to final game.
Alongside the rugby, there will be plenty happening around the festival site for players, families and supporters, with food and refreshments, fundraising stalls, activities and entertainment taking place across Gibson Park, the Triangle, the Primary School pitches and the Greenyards area.
We’re especially pleased to welcome clubs travelling from across Scotland and beyond our usual Borders rugby community, helping make this a fitting celebration of the game and of 150 years of rugby in Melrose.
Before You Arrive
Please check your team’s individual fixture page carefully before travelling.
Teams have staggered start times throughout the day, so there is no requirement for every team to arrive at the start of the festival.
Your fixture information will show your first match and playing schedule. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before your first fixture to allow time for parking, registration and making your way to your playing area.
The festival will run from approximately 10:00am to 3:00pm.
“Have a great day today, let the children make their own decisions and celebrate positive play.”
Craig Greer - Head of Youth Rugby - Melrose Rugby
