Having beaten Watsonians and Jed-Forest in Pool “A” Melrose came from behind to beat Edinburgh Accies by 2 points in the Semi-final. The final was a close fought affair with, from a scrum between the Kelso 22 &10 m lines, Dwain Patterson collected the ball and raced over half the length of the pitch to score the only, unconverted, try in the first half. Shortly after the break MELROSE put in a fine series of passes down the right flank ending with Paddy Anderson crossing for an unconverted try to level the scores. Connor Spence then ended a series of plays with an unconverted try to the left of the posts giving MELROSE the victory and retention of the Cup.
