Melrose Rugby Bulletin - 15/10/25

Afternoon All,
Hope everyone is having a good week and those of you that were here on Saturday enjoyed our Oktoberfest festivities! There was a great lunch from the team at Rosie Cully Catering and the bar staff worked their socks off keeping everyone hydrated. Kudos to the players for entering into the spirit of it all even after that loss on the pitch. Our boys certainly know how to rock a pair of lederhosen and look great in a dirndl!!

We had mixed results on the pitch at the weekend, The U18’s came away victorious again Jed and the Storm had a win at Peebles. It wasn’t to be here on Saturday afternoon with the 1XV going down to Watsonians. To read Iain’s match report – CLICK HERE. It's a bit quieter round the club this week due to half term, but the senior teams are training hard, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The ‘Cool Chefs’ have been keeping them well fed, a big THANK YOU to the kitchen team for all your hard work.
This Saturday we welcome Glasgow Hawks to the Greenyards, our ‘Careers Round the Pitch’ placement students are running the day! Here’s a short note from the crew…

Fill the Stand Day!

Hello! It is Ben, Katy and Jaxson here and we are sixth year students from Earlston High School. Throughout our academic year we are volunteering with Melrose Rugby Club who have set up a programme with Developing Young Workforce and Earlston High School to create the Careers around the Pitch programme!
This project involves a group of sixth-year students looking to gain experience in a range of potential career paths, both on and off the pitch. We are super excited for the year ahead and look forward to giving back to the community, develop our teamwork together and to have fun!

FILL THE STAND
As a team, the Careers Around the Pitch are thrilled for Saturday the 18th of October for when we are running our first event: Fill the Stand Day!
We are super excited for our 1st XV Melrose team to face Glasgow Hawks in the Scottish Premiership, kick off is 3pm.
Our aim is to bring our regular spectators and the wider community together to make our stand as full as possible, with a buzzing atmosphere! We want to see YOU down supporting the club.
For the first time, we are offering a FREE entry to all teachers and blue light card holders.
Not only this, but the match day also includes free raffle entries for all attending in a chance to win a hamper prize with various gifts, kindly donated from local businesses and shops. Feel free to bring the whole family!
So, consider yourselves formally invited and come on down a cheer the boys on!

Zen turns out for Poland!
Big Congrats go out to 1XV player, Zen Swagrzak who heads off for international duties with Poland again next week – Go well Zen & hope you have a successful time!
