Melrose Rugby Bulletin - 18/6/26
Afternoon to you!
Hope everyone is doing well and has been enjoying the Festivities around town this past week! From Book Festival to Ride out, fancy dress, disco and bike ride, there has certainly been a lot going on round town. It's the Crowning of the Festival Queen tonight and the Festival Ball tomorrow night, the Festival Lunch and Eildon Hill race on Saturday afternoon along with the Dinner on Saturday night, all here at the club.
We were chatting about our rugby season the other day, and realised that June is the only 'off' month! Some of the boys and some guest players are heading off to Geneva as part of the 1883 Team at the beginning of July, and shortly afterwards pre season training and matches begin! Here is a 'cut out and keep' image for the upcoming season's premiership fixtures.

Modern Family's Phil Dunphy comes to the Greenyards!
All you 'Modern Family' fans may have been a little surprised to see photos of everyone's favourite TV Dad Phil Dunphy at the Club yesterday! Twice a week in the summer months, we welcome a group of cyclists on a biking holiday through the Borders and on to Yorkshire through a Californian Company, Back Roads. Yesterday they had a private group and Doug and I were very over excited to meet Ty Burrell (aka Phil Dunphy) along with his real family and their friends. The guys & Ty's daughter Greta were really interested in the club and rugby - and Doug gave them a bit of coaching!! He even scored an invite to visit during the Rugby World Cup in 2031!! We were delighted to present Ty with a Melrose shirt and Jason scored a Melrose Rugby ball - they were both thrilled!
New signing for the season!
Post training photo shoot!
Well I think that's it for this week - if you're in town, enjoy the rest of Festival week!
We’re taking a Bulletin Break for a few weeks but will be back mid July!
Until next time -
Warm wishes
Hilary
